Greg worked his way through college at Baylor University. While a student, he served in Student Congress and was a co-chair of Steppin' Out, a campus-wide volunteer outreach program. In 1986, Greg earned his BBA, graduating with honors.
Greg began his career at the Arthur Anderson accounting firm in Dallas. In 1988, he was accepted to The University of Virginia (UVA) School of Law, consistently ranked one of the top ten law schools in the country. He graduated in 1991, earning a J.D. degree.
Later that year, Greg returned to Dallas and joined the highly-regarded firm of Haynes & Boone LLP. Greg practiced employment law and was a frequent speaker on the topic. In 1994, he joined the Dallas office of the internationally- renowned law firm of Jones Day LLP.
It was during this time Greg met his wife, Jill, who at the time was clerking for a federal judge in Marshall, Texas. They were married in 1995.
In 1995, Greg left Jones Day and followed his heart to become a prosecutor here in Collin County. Greg served over four years as a misdemeanor and felony prosecutor for the Collin County District Attorney.
In 1999, Greg opened his own law firm in Plano, and Jill later joined him at the firm. The Willis Law Firm was a general law practice, handling primarily criminal, employment and family matters.
